As a small child, after a scary flip and swim, Corran Addison's father told him a story about little monsters that live on the upstream side of holes. They are called Vermicious Knids.
The legend says that when kids get stuck in holes, they don't flip because of the hole and scary moving water, but because Vermcious Knids scramble up onto the upstream side of the kayak, pulling it down, causing the capsize.
